Situated between Lille and Brussels, in Hainaut Province, Ath is an welcoming fairly small town. Its Grand-Place, surrounded by historic buildings, is a must to visit. The café terraces are full of life and the nearby shops are varied. Lots of people come there to do their shopping. Some historic treasures are to be found – the Burbant Tower, built in 1166, is a listed Walloon heritage building. It’s was military fortification around which the town has developed.
